Here’s an excerpt from Acres of Diamonds which was a famous lecture delivered by Russell Conwell of Temple University. It’s an oldie but a goodie and there’s a very powerful message in there. It will take a few minutes to read so why not print it off and read it over a cup of coffee.

Have you ever stopped to reflect on how you came to be where you are now?

In John Carlton’s latest blog post he wrote about his “25 Random Things You Don’t Know About Me” (you may have seen similar postings from various people floating around Facebook. In his blog he asked people to comment by writing “two random things”.

Here are mine.

My two random things relate to how we often write our own destinies at an early age.

1. When I was a little girl I decided that when I grew up and got married I would have two children. Having said that, I only wanted to be fat and pregnant once so those children would be twins (even though I didn’t have a family history of twins).

What happened? Yes, I did have two children and surprisingly they are twins, conceived without IVF.

2. When I was little I also decided I wanted two different types of careers …

Just for fun, try this today.

Whenever you’re at a bus stop, or lining up to get your lunch or maybe even in a meeting or anywhere where people are sitting around you, just try this and see what happens.

Pick someone who is sitting down but isn’t directly looking at you. Anyone at all.

When you have done that, send them love.

Focus on your heart and gaze softly at them, imagine a wave of love energy emanating from your heart to theirs.

Notice how you feel.

Notice what happens in your body physically.

Notice what happens to the person you’re focusing your attention upon - any changes in the way they are acting.

Your energy has power. Your thoughts have power.

Thoughts of love raise the voltage of your life force.

They raise your vibration and put you at one with the Universe. They give you an incredible amount of power.

Thoughts of hate or negativity lower your vibration and put you into victim mode. Other people can tell that.

So try this as often as you can today and see what happens.
